What's in our Window?

Spring is finally on its way! Come and ring in the new season with us down at the Silver Fox Gallery! We have beautiful new pieces coming in after being at the art markets in both Philadelphia and Baltimore. We have beautiful pieces featured in our window this month, the main attraction, and one of the stars of our March sale, are four beautifully crafted hand-blown glass carins by artist, Melanie Leppla. Leppla also created the gorgeous glass carin lamp we have placed beside our chair. Leppla has worked with glass since graduating from Rochester Institute of Technology with a BFA in 1986. Honors include two fellowship grants from The Creative Glass Center of America and a fellowship grant from the New Jersey Counsel for the Arts. Leppla’s work is collected by individuals and institutions worldwide, including the Museum of American Craft, National Museum of Art (Renwick Gallery, Smithsonian Institute), New Orleans Museum of Art, and the Musee des Artes Decoratifs (Lausanne, Switzerland) among others. We have many other amazingly talented glass artists throughout our gallery, so come on down and see their work and enjoy 20% off all of our art glass through the whole month of March.

We have many other beautiful items on display in our window this month. The console is handcrafted right out of Boone, NC by Charleston Forge. The base is crafted from hand-forged iron and donned with a solid maple wood top, complete with hand-planning across its surface. The unique feature about this particular console is that it was designed by a student from Appalachian State University, how cool is that?!

Sitting atop the console is a hand-forged lamp by Vermont artisans Hubbardton Forge. Hubbardton Forge is able to take lighting to the next level and beyond by creating something that is not only functional but transitions to a beautiful piece of art. This lamp and any other pieces they offer are sure to brighten your homes with their light and creativity.

The black and white photography you will see featured along the walls in our display was taken by none other than our own local photographer, John Smith. The unique feature about Smith’s work is that he does no enhancing or editing on his pieces, what you are seeing is what he saw through the camera’s lens! Smith offers a variety of sizes in any of his photographs, but you better come quick, all of his photographs are editions out of 50, come get yours before its gone!

Come on down to the Silver Fox Gallery, we have plenty of beautiful art and hand-crafted pieces to help you refresh your homes for spring. We can’t wait to see you!
